Lodge an application for building or development, access to information, temporary unnatural flooding, the erection of fences or the removal of tress.

  • Informal Access to Information Application ​​​​​​​

  • Footpath Crossing (Driveway) Application

    Footpath Crossing (Driveway) Application  

    Under the Roads Act 1993 as amended, “Roads Act 1993”: “a property owner is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the access from the roadway to their property.” This access is known as a footpath (driveway) crossing or vehicle crossing.  When you are intending to construct a new footpath crossing or reconstruct one that is damaged, you need to submit an application. An application fee of $207.00 applies.  You must apply before doing the work.

    To Apply: 
    You need to complete the Application, pay the Application Fee and provide details of the following: 

    • Public Liability Insurance Certificate
    • Worker's Compensation Insurance Certificate

    Once you are ready to begin work organise an inspection with Council’s Civil Asset Inspector by calling 02 9806 8250, Monday through Friday from 9AM to 4:30PM. They will review your plans to see if they meet Council’s specifications. Once the construction is completed you need to book a crossing inspection to ensure the construction is as originally specified. Please refer to the specification document here

    LODGE FOOTPATH CROSSING APPLICATION
    Road Opening Application

    You must apply before doing any work in the Road Reserve (Council land outside your property boundary) and abide by the Road Opening Permit Conditions in this link. 

    As part of this Road Opening Application, a Road Occupancy Licence (ROL) from the Traffic Management Centre (TMC) of TfNSW is required for following streets in Epping, locations where applicants are working within 100m of Traffic Signals, or on Regional roads (refer to the permit conditions link above):

    • Oxford Street
    • Pembroke Street
    • Essex Street
    • Langston Place
    • Cambridge Street

    A TMC ROL is required in Epping as stated above for approximately 7 months during Station Link starting 30 September 2018. Station Link is a network of high frequency bus services that will keep customers moving while the rail line between Epping and Chatswood is upgraded.  TMC ROL Applications will need to be submitted to the Transport Management Centre (TMC) via the Online Planned Incident (OPLINC) system located here.  Once ROL applications have been processed by TMC, final approval will rest with Council’s Traffic Team for works on local roads or footpath.  For more information regarding TMC ROL, please contact (02) 8396 1513. 

    To Apply:
    Before a permit is issued, you need to complete the online Application, pay the Application Fee and provide proof of currency within three months:

    • Public Liability Insurance Certificate
    • Worker's Compensation Insurance Certificate
    • Sole traders attach copy of business registration certificate
    • Worksite Details
    • Estimated Excavated Areas
    • Traffic Control Plan (optional)
    • Plans or sketch of proposed works

    Once the construction is completed you must book an inspection to determine the scope of permanent restoration works. 

    NOTE:
    Works in Parramatta CBD incur a surcharge of 30% of the scheduled fee for permanent restoration on works to cover the cost of completing the work outside normal business hours. Please refer to the map for CBD boundary.
    Please be aware you may also have to apply for an RMS Road Occupancy License if you are working within 100 meters of traffic signals or on one of the roads listed in the conditions document above.

    Temporary Road/Footpath Occupancy

    Important - This is not an application to open a road/footpath 

    You must apply before doing any work in the Road Reserve (Council land outside your property boundary) and abide by the Temporary Road/Footpath Occupancy Permit Conditions link.  From 30 September 2018 Station Link, a network of high frequency bus services will keep customers moving while the rail line between Epping and Chatswood is upgraded for around seven months.  While Station Link services are operating, there will be changes to the way Road Occupancy Licences (ROL) are submitted and assessed on the following streets in Epping:

    • Oxford Street
    • Pembroke Street
    • Essex Street
    • Langston Place
    • Cambridge Street

    Applications will need to be submitted to the Transport Management Centre (TMC) via the Online Planned Incident (OPLINC) system located here.  Once applications have been processed by TMC, final approval will rest with  Council’s Traffic Team. For more information, please contact (02) 8396 1513.

    NOTE: 
    Please be aware you may also have to apply for an TMC Road Occupancy License if you are working within 100 meters of traffic signals or on one of the roads listed in the conditions document above. If back up dates are not given in original application, and in the event your works are delayed or postponed a new online application will be required to be submitted to Council for new date. Urgent Applications must be submitted before 12pm Monday - Friday (during business days) prior to the date of the Road/Footpath Occupancy.

    Use this application where a tree forms part of a heritage item or is within a heritage conservation area or forms part of an Aboriginal object or is within an Aboriginal place of heritage significance.

    Select this option if you wish to apply for an application for the removal or pruning of trees under clause 5.4 Preservation of Trees or Vegetation under the Parramatta Development Control Plan 2011, and State Environmental Planning Policy (Vegetation in Non-Rural Areas) 2017. You are required to submit an application and gain approval by Council prior to undertaking works.
