This 40-minute session will help you understand:
- the difference between a hobby and a business
- what to do if your hobby turns into a business
- the most common business structures and the registrations you may need in business.

Are you starting a new small business? In this introductory 60-minute session you'll learn about which business records to keep, the legal requirements and how long to keep your records.
This basic session also introduces you to the benefits of developing good record keeping habits as well as tools to help you manage your records.

In this 60-minute session you will learn how to register, lodge and pay online for GST, pay as you go withholding, pay as you go instalments and more using Online services for business which is replacing the Business Portal.
Note: This session explains how to use Online services for business. We recommend sole traders to use ATO online services for individuals and sole traders and attend the "Connecting online with the ATO: Sole traders' session.

NSW Government Dine & Discover
(Back to top)Council is supporting the NSW Government’s Dine & Discover initiative to support local dining, arts and tourism businesses and encourage the community to get out and about.
All eligible businesses across NSW can now register for the scheme which will see NSW residents aged 18 and over eligible for 4 x $25 vouchers to spend at participating businesses that are registered as COVID Safe.
The Dine & Discover NSW Vouchers will be divided into two categories:
- 2 x $25 vouchers to be used for eating in at restaurants, cafes, bars, wineries, pubs and clubs from Monday to Thursday (excluding public holidays)
- 2 x $25 vouchers to be used for entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music, and arts venues, any day of the week (excluding public holidays).
All customers will need a MyServiceNSW Account to receive Dine & Discover vouchers. Customers can download the Service NSW app and register for a MyServiceNSW account now.
