Council is celebrating spring and calling all green thumbs and gardeners to enter the City of Parramatta Spring Garden Competition 2020.

This spring we encourage gardening enthusiasts to beautify the streets and suburbs of our City. While 2020 has had its challenges, finding time to tend to gardens can be a silver lining.

The Spring Garden Competition gives all gardeners a chance to showcase their skills and passion and be awarded up to $500 for their efforts.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year’s competition will run online. All gardens will be judged via photos and videos submitted by entrants.

Entries are open now, and will close on 30 November. Find out more and submit your entry via the form below.

Entry Details at a Glance

  • Entries must be from residents, businesses and organisations living or working in the City of Parramatta Local Government Area.
  • Photos and video footage will be used by Council staff to judge gardens and choose winners from each category.
  • Entry to the 2020 Spring Garden Competition is free.
  • There is a category for every garden no matter how big or small.
  • Entries are encouraged from amateur green thumbs to more experienced gardeners, individual households, community groups, commercial organisations and small businesses.

Note: The health and safety of our community and staff are Council’s priority. This year, the online adaptation of the Spring Garden Competition has been developed in-line with federal and state government regulations and social distancing requirements due to COVID-19 restrictions.
