From Tuesday 21 July, City of Parramatta Libraries will be extending access to its services in line with the NSW Government’s public health advice.
Customers will now be able to reserve access to computer stations and books for collection, subject to terms and conditions.
Limited walk-in access will also be available for browsing and use of the Quiet Study Room.
In efforts to minimise physical contact and protect customers and staff, the number of visitors will be restricted and opening hours limited.
Library membership is free and is open to anyone, even if you don't live within the City of Parramatta.
To join the library, you will need to:
- complete the online form
- visit one of our City of Parramatta Libraries with identification with your name and current NSW residential address
If you are unable to join online then visit any of our libraries with proof of identification to fill out an application form.
If you are under eighteen your parent or guardian will need to provide their identification and a Medicare card showing their relationship.

As a Library member, you can access an array of services aimed at providing the community with reliable and up-to-date information resources.
Customers will be able to book a 30 or 60 minute session on a computer, limited to one session per person per day. Only one person is allowed to use a computer at a time.
Printers and photocopiers are available for use. You can send your document remotely via this link.

Charges apply for printing and photocopying. Payment is cashless via Tap & Go EFTPOS only.
You’ll need your current membership card to access the above services. If you’re not a member, you can register online to get a temporary number.
Reservations & Inter-Library Loans
You can reserve up to five items on each membership card via parra.city/search.
After receiving your notification, please collect your items during opening hours. You’ll need your membership card in order to collect your loan from the library. Self-check machines are available at all branches.
Please be mindful of social distancing in the book aisles and follow the direction of staff at all times.
Some collections are not available for browsing due to the space restrictions. You can borrow these items by reserving them or asking for assistance from library staff.
Quiet Study Room
Walk-ins are subject to availability. Quiet Study Room available during library opening hours.
Membership & temporary membership
You can join your local library online by clicking here.
Once you’ve signed up, you can borrow eBooks, eAudio, and up to five physical items using your temporary membership number.
When you visit a library branch, please bring the temporary library card number with a valid identification with your name and current address (e.g. driver’s licence). We can then complete your registration and give you an official membership card.
Currently our libraries have no face-to-face programs, but you can access digital programs online.
Justice of Peace Service
This service is currently unavailable at our libraries. NSW JPs are now authorised to witness statutory declarations and affidavits in real time via audio-visual link up to 26 September 2020.

Our libraries will not accept any donations for collection at this stage.
Book sales are not available at this stage.

Book Vending Machine
WPCCL has a state-of-the-art book vending machine, containing selected books from across our collections, located in the 24-hour-access foyer. Library members can borrow books from the vending machine at any time of day.
